Lesson 5: God'south New Cosmos
Dear Friend,
By His decease on the cross, Jesus Christ achieved a perfect redemption for us. God honoured His Son and exalted Him to the very throne of the universe. God has made Jesus Christ "Lord of all." The glorified Homo, Jesus Christ, has all authority in heaven and world.
Christ is the Head of God's New Family
God has not but fabricated Jesus Christ Lord of all, but He has made Him the Head of a new family—"the children of God."
Past natural birth nosotros were in Adam's sinful family. Adam was our head. We shared in all that Adam was and all that he did.

Christ is the Beginning of God'due south New Creation

God's Peachy Conservancy
In order for us to appreciate God's great conservancy, we need to consider our condition before nosotros were saved. When God looked at me in my lost condition, what did He see? He saw three things:
i. He saw my sins. My sins are what I accept done.
2. He saw my sinful self. My sinful self is what I am. I am a sinner.

God dealt with my sins by the precious blood of Christ
There is only 1 remedy for our sins—the blood of Jesus Christ. Considering Jesus shed His precious blood for our sins, nosotros are forgiven of all our sins. The Bible says,
"The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." (ane John one:seven)
God dealt with my sinful cocky by putting me in Christ
Just as there is just one remedy for our sins, there is only one remedy for our sinful self. That remedy is death! God's Word says, "The soul that sins, information technology shall die."

God brought us into His new creation

Past our expiry with Christ we passed out of the old creation. When Christ rose again in God's new creation, we rose with Him in God's new creation. The Bible says,
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed abroad; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians five:17
A more exact translation of the first part of this verse would be: "Therefore, if whatsoever i [be] in Christ, [there is] a new creation."
Christ is the Caput of God'due south new creation, and nosotros are in Christ.
Christ is the Head of God's new creation, and we are in Christ. And so if whatsoever ane is in Christ, he is a new person in God's new creation. Our Life is in Two Volumes
The history of every child of God can exist looked at as being in two volumes.
Volume ane of our life is "The Former Life in the One-time Creation." The history of this part of our life began when we were born.
What is in Volume 1 of our life? The pages of this book are filled with our sins and failures. But that history has been airtight past our expiry with Christ. God puts us in Christ on the cross. When He died, nosotros died with Him. Our old life in the sometime creation ended with our decease with Christ.
Book 2 of our life is "The New Life in God's New Cosmos." This life began when we were born again spiritually. When Christ rose from the expressionless, we rose with Him in newness of life. When He ascended into heaven, we ascended with Him. When He took His identify at the right manus of God, we were seated there with Him.
We brainstorm our new life in Christ, seated with Christ in "heavenly places." This is our new starting point. This is our true spiritual position. This is the way God looks at usa.
What is in Book 2 of our life? The pages of this volume are filled with the perfections of Christ and our blessedness equally being in Christ. This volume will never end! We will reign forever with Christ.
What about our sins? They belong to the old creation. They are gone forever in the death of Christ.
What about my sinful self? It, too, belongs to the quondam creation. My onetime life concluded on the cross.

In the old cosmos nosotros are said to be "in the flesh." In the new creation we are said to be "in the Spirit." The moment we are born again, we go out the region of the flesh and come into the region of the Spirit—God's new creation. The Bible says,
"You are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you…" Romans 8:9
When God looks at usa at present, what does He run across? He sees us as a new persons in His new cosmos. Where are our sins? They are gone forever. What happened to "the sinner"? He was crucified with Christ and buried with Christ. What happened to the sinful earth? It is even so there, but as new persons nosotros are no longer role of this world. Nosotros are in God's new creation.
All of this is true of u.s. considering we are in Christ. In one case you lot are in Christ, yous are there forever. You are forever joined to Christ. God always looks at us as being in Christ; He never sees us otherwise. We are forever one with Christ in God's new creation.
Our "Citizenship" is in Heaven

The point is not that we are going to sky some 24-hour interval, but that we are citizens of sky at present, at this present moment. Our names are written there now. We are on the roll of heaven at present. The Bible says, "For our citizenship is in sky." (Philippians 3:20)

Believers live in Two Worlds

The risen Christ is the glorious Head of God's new creation. The Bible says that the Man, Jesus Christ, is "the Heir of all things." This means that He has inherited all that God has!
One solar day Christ will come up in bully power and glory and take public possession of all that is in God's universe. He will reign equally God'southward glorious King.
We are looking for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. At His coming He volition requite u.s. a resurrection torso similar His glorious body. The Bible says,

God has delivered us out of this earth, merely into what? Is it heaven? No. It says that we have been transported us into "the kingdom of God's dear Son." We are in Christ'south kingdom at present.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the great and glorious Head of the new cosmos. God's new creation is non something fashion off in the future. It is a present reality. Christ is at present enthroned at the right hand of God. We are now under His administration. Say with me, "I am a new person in a new place!"
